“I needed to ‘get’ this.”
These are the words I often think when I hear, read or see something that widens my perspective and deepens my understanding.
So often we need to expand the optics of our limited viewpoint.
And the Arts help us to do so.
Art gives meaning to our lives and helps us understand our world. It can reflect a deeper understanding of our own emotions and the experiences and emotions of another. Art, in a myriad of forms, from creative writing, to painting, to composing, to sculpting, to film, to dance and more, encourages us to be open to new ideas and perspectives.
When our thinking changes, our feelings change.
When our feelings change, our actions change.
When our actions change, the results change.
And it often begins with art.
As Alice Walker once shared, “Poetry is the lifeblood of rebellion, revolution, and the raising of consciousness.”
I invite you to join me on November 17th for an eye-opening and meaningful self-leadership conversation on the topic: Life in Art & Art in Life.
